The central image of this poster is Michelangelo's Adam from the ceiling
of the Sistine Chapel, augmented with the considerable artistic talents of
Rick Griffin.
The original/first print poster measures 14 5/16" (or "taller") X 20", and
was printed on uncoated index paper stock. This stock is identical
to that of the original postcard.
There are two variations of the second print poster, both authorized
reprints. The first (we will call it Type A) was printed on uncoated
index stock (not the same stock as the original poster...does not match
the postcard), and measures 14 1/8" (or "shorter") X 20". The second
variation (we will call
it Type B) was printed on a semi-glossy paper stock, and measures approx"
14" X 20". Both the Type A and B bear the notation "No. 52-1",
however they are NOT from the original/first printing. Both of these
posters were printed no later than 1968. If you buy a FD 52 second
print poster on our website, we will send you a Type A. If you are
interested in Type B, please send us an email or give us a call.
It is important to note that the original poster is generally 1/4" to 3/8"
"taller" than the reprints, making it relatively easy to distinguish
between the two.
The original postcard was printed prior to the shows, and measures approx.
5" X 7". The cards were printed with two different backs, place
stamp here & bulk rate.
