First Print Poster	This is one the classic images of the psychedelic-era, and quite popular. The appearance of the Grateful Dead at these shows has only heightened the demand for this poster. The first/original print FD 45 poster matches the color of the original postcard, which is a "dusty/dirty" gold/brown. The scan we have on the website is of an actual FD 45 card...that is the color I am trying to describe. We have a few FD 45 first print posters in NM- condition (minor border flaws) that have been signed by Stanley Mouse. If you have an interest, please send us an email or give us a call. The second print (authorized by the promoter) poster, which was printed shortly after the shows (sometime in 1967), does not match the color of the original card. The color of the second print poster can best be described as a mustard/gold. As is the case with the original poster, the second print poster carries the "45-1" notation in the lower right corner, but it is NOT an original poster. The scan we have on the website is of an actual FD 45-2 poster. That is the color that I am trying to describe. It is worth noting that in some instances a FD 45 second print poster (especially if it has been framed for an extended period) can fade, and darken. In many instances they will appear to be the same color as the first print posters. In this case, the matted areas (protected) of the poster must be inspected to determine the true color/printing. An unauthorized bootleg of this poster exists. It was forged in 1987, and is the same color as the second print poster. However it can easily be distinguished as the bootleg by looking at the woman's arm and face. On the second print poster, these areas are a light green. On the bootleg, they are white. All of the aforementioned posters (including the bootleg) measure approx. 14" x 20". The original postcard that was printed for these shows has two different backings, place stamp here and bulk rate.
