The original/first
print poster was printed on vellum paper stock, and measures 14 1/4" X
18". It bears "The Bindweed Press, San Francisco" printing credit.
Seeing that a poster exists with the notation "No. 38-3", yet one does not
exist with the notation "No. 38-2", it is likely that there were two early
printings of this poster that are identical to each other. For our
purposes, any poster with the Bindweed printing credit is considered to be
an original.
The third print poster, an authorized reprint, was printed on uncoated
index paper stock. The notation "No. 38-3" appears in the lower left
corner, and the aforementioned Bindweed credit has been deleted.
This poster measures approx. 14" X 20 1/2", and was most probably printed
in 1967.
The fourth print poster was printed on the same paper stock as the third
print poster. The notation "No. 38-4" appears in the lower left corner,
and the Bindweed credit does not appear. This poster measures
approx. 14" X 20", and was printed no later than 1968.
The original handbill was printed prior to the shows on very thin paper,
and measures approx. 8 1/2" X 11"
A quick note on the signed FD 38 posters and handbills that we have
available. Moscoso has signed very few of his posters and handbills
over the years, and when he does, his signature is quite expensive to
acquire. We think his signed pieces have some real additional value.
