There are two early
printings of this poster, one prior to the shows, and one very shortly after
the shows. A total of 3,000 posters were printed between the two printings.
Within these printings, there are several noticeable color, paper & size variations,
none of which can be tied definitively to either of these printings. All of
the posters from these printings carry "The Bindweed Press, San Francisco"
printing credit and were printed on vellum paper stock, so for our purposes
any poster with the Bindweed credit will be considered an original. The third print poster, an authorized reprint, was printed on uncoated index paper stock, and bears the notation "No. 33(3)" in the lower right corner. The Bindweed credit does not appear. This poster measures approx. 14 1/8" x 20 1/4". This poster was most probably printed in 1967. The fourth print poster, an authorized reprint, is very similar to the third print poster, but bears the notation "No. 33(4)" in the lower right corner. This poster was printed no later than 1968. The original handbill was printed prior to the shows on very thin paper, and measures approx. 8 1/2" x 11". The concert dates that appear on the handbill, Nov. 3 & 4, are incorrect. The shows took place Nov. 4 & 5. |
