The original/first print poster was printed on vellum stock, and bears
"The Bindweed Press, San Francisco" printing credit in the lower right
corner of the poster. Only 1,000 posters were printed. The
image was deliberately printed off register to enhance the
psychedelic/drug induced visual effect. This poster measures approx.
14 1/8" X 20". We rarely see this (or any of the other early FD
posters for that matter) poster in top condition, but we do have a couple
posters with minor flaws. Please send us an email or give us a phone
call if you have an interest. The second print poster, an authorized reprint, was printed on uncoated index stock, and carries the notation "No. 16-2" in the lower right corner. The Bindweed credit does not appear on this poster. This poster measures approx. 14 1/2" X 20 1/2", and was most probably printed in 1967. This poster was forged in the early 1970's. This unauthorized bootleg poster bears the "San Francisco Poster Co." printing credit. The original handbill was printed prior to the shows on very thin paper, and measures approx. 8 1/2" X 11" It exists in two variations, green paper and white paper. |
