Wes Wilson designed the
majority of the first 62 Fillmore posters, and regards this as
his favorite image.
The original/first print poster was printed prior to the shows,
and
measures approx. 13 3/4" x 22 1/4". There is a small
orange "blob" in the center of the "P" in "APRIL" on this poster
that is not present on the second print poster. In
addition, the left edge of the poster (at it's narrowest) is
only 3/32" from the image (next to the bulge created by
"Byrds").
The second print poster, an authorized reprint, measures approx.
13 3/4" x 22 1/4", and was printed shortly after the shows.
The small orange "blob" that appears on the original does not
appear on this poster, and the left edge of this poster (at it's
narrowest) is 3/16" from the image (next to the bulge created by
"Byrds").
The original post card measures approx. 5" x 8".
There are two variations as follows,
This card, Type A, was printed prior to the shows by "West Coast
Lithograph". Cards exists with both "place stamp here" and
"bulk rate" (some of these were mailed) backs.
This card, Type B, was printed at the same time as the second
print posters, by "Creative Lithograph". This card has a
"place stamp here" back. |
