There are three
distinct variations of the original/first print poster, the
characteristics of which are as follows,
This original/first print poster (we will call it Type A) has a yellow
background, and the word "LOVE" in the upper right corner is white.
This poster measures approx. 14" X 23 1/2".
This original/first print poster (we will call it Type B) has an olive
green background, and the word "LOVE" in the upper right corner is white.
This poster measures approx. 14" X 23 1/2" and was printed on a
relatively thin index paper
stock.
This original/first print poster (we will call it Type C) is similar in
appearance to the Type B poster, but was printed on a thicker paper stock.
The paper used for the Type C poster is very porous and rough, not smooth
to the touch.
The second print poster, an authorized reprint, was printed on uncoated
index paper stock. This is the same stock that was used to print
Fillmore originals from early 1967 through 1968 (which is when this poster
would have been printed), and it is smooth to the touch. This poster
is very similar in appearance to the Type C first print poster, the
difference being the texture of the paper and the color of the word
"LOVE". The reprint is smooth to the touch, and "LOVE" is the same
background green as the rest of the poster. This poster measures
approx. 14" X 23 1/2".
The third print poster, an authorized reprint, was also printed on
uncoated index stock. The background of this poster is a bright
chartreuse green, and the word "LOVE" is in white. This poster
measures approx. 14" X 23 1/2".
There are a dizzying number of variations of the blank backed handbills
(printed prior to the shows) and postcards (printed shortly after the
shows), all of which measure approx. 4 1/2" X 7 3/4". If there
is a specific variation you are seeking, please send us an email or give
us a phone call.
