This is one of the classic early Fillmore images, featuring a photo of the
1966 Yardbirds (with Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page).
The original/first print poster has a union printing logo (#221) in the lower
left corner, and measures approx. 14" x 20"
The second print poster, an authorized reprint, does not bear the aforementioned
union logo. In addition, it has a "Printed by West Coast Lithograph
Co., SF" credit along the bottom right edge of the poster. It measures
approx. 14" x 20", and was printed on uncoated index paper stock, most
probably by mid-year, 1967.
The third print poster, an authorized reprint, is similar to the second print
poster save the paper stock. The paper used for the third printing was
a slick/thin coated stock. This poster measures approx. 14" x
20", and was most probably printed in late 1967 or 1968.
In 1987 this poster was forged. This unauthorized poster differs from
the authorized printings when examining the color of the faces in the photograph.
On the authorized printings, the faces have a gray tone to them. On
the forgery, the faces are white.
The original handbill was printed prior to the shows on very thin paper stock,
and measures approx. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".
There are two variations of the post card, the characteristics of which are
as follows:
This post card (we will call it Type A) was printed on vellum/plain paper
stock, and measures approx. 4 1/2" x 7 5/8". This post card was
printed at the same time as the second print poster.
This post card (we will call it Type B) was printed on index paper stock,
and measures approx.. 4 1/2" x 6 7/8". This post card was printed
at the same time as the third print poster.
