This is one of the very popular Fillmore images, and the second Jimi
Hendrix/Rick Griffin poster combination. This was Jimi's last
appearance in the Bill Graham Fillmore series.
The original/first print poster was printed on an uncoated index stock,
similar to most Fillmore originals printed in 1968. It measures
approx. 14 1/8" x 21 1/2".
The second print poster, an authorized reprint, was printed on a slick,
glossy paper stock. In addition, there is a script "W" in the lower
right corner. This poster measures approx. 14" x 21 1/2", and was
printed in 1975.
The third print poster, a licensed reprint (by Pyramid Books in England),
was printed in 1990 on a high gloss paper stock. A copy of Rick
Griffin's signature was shot into the plate/film, and it appears in the
lower right corner of the poster. The top inch of the poster was cut
off, so it measures approx. 12" x 16 1/2".
This poster was either forged (unauthorized printing), or legally
reprinted to accompany a Rykodisc release of "Jimi Hendrix Experience-Live
At Winterland". The notation "Printed in West Germany" appears in
the lower right corner of
this poster. It measures approx. 15 1/2" x 23 3/8".
The original postcard was printed prior to the shows, and exists in two
variations. One has a place stamp here back, and the other has a calendar
of other Bill Graham events on the back. It measures approx. 4
5/8" x 7". If you purchase a BG 140 card on our website, we will
send you a PSH back card. If you are interested in a calendar back
card, please send us an email or give us a call.
A double sized postcard of this image and BG 141 was also printed.
It measures approx. 7" x 9 1/4", and most of these cards were
mailed.
